Here are ten of my favourite movies... in no particular order!

1. The Matrix (I'll reserve my judgement on the Matrix Reloaded till I see Matrix Revolutions)

2. GolMaal ( This Hrishikesh Mukherjee movie starring Amol Palekar and Utpal Dutt is an absolute laugh

riot!)

3. Khamosh ( Vidhu Vinod Chopra's directorial debut... is the most perfect "whodunnit!?" I've seen till

date)

4. Dil Chahta Hai ( Farhan Akhtar's masterpiece needs no introduction. :) )

5. Hey Ram ( these were the last words of Gandhiji... and also the title of Kamal Hasan's movie describing

the events that led to the Mahatma's brutal murder. And like most Indian movies, this too is a much

sensationalized version of the truth... its still on my list of favorites.)

6. Kaalapani (Originally made in Malayalam and then translated to all Indian languages, this is a

horrifying tale of inmates at Kaalapani... the cellular jail in the Andaman Islands where the British kept

Indian freedom fighters.)

7. Before Sunrise ( Directed by Richard Linklater... this movie stars Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy, and is

definitely the most interesting and intelligent romantic movie that I have ever seen!)

8. A Beautiful Mind. (This Ron Howard Movie perhaps has Russell Crowe's best ever performance as an actor in a lead role.)

9. Bharatham ( This Mohan Lal starrer... is my favourite Malayalam movie of all time.)

10. Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro. (Directed by Kundan Shah this is one of the Hindi best comdies ever made.)
