Finally... Coke is told to stop exploiting ground water resources

Kerala High Court has directed Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages Limited (thats what Coke is known as in India) to stop using Ground Water at its Bottling Plant in Palakkad District in Kerala.

A detailed article can be found at www.rediff.com at the following link...

Previously, there was a state-wide agitation launched against the Coke and other beverages marketed by the company, after it refused to cut down its consumption of ground water, despite requests to do so by the people living in the neighbourhood.

A question that remains unanswered

At times, I wonder why is it that we as humans need the others like us for us to survive and flourish. There are other mammals, the big cats for instance, which are quite as much evolved as we are and they do manage to survive on their own for most of their adult lives, causing little or no harm to do their environment in the process. Thus assuring that their kind lives in peace with the rest of nature.

We humans with our highly evolved intelligence, are infact a curse to the planet... and the sad part is that it is our highly evolved intelligence and our sense of being that is actually causing more harm than good.

Is it possible for us turn back time... get things back to the way it actually was... before it gets too late... or would we evolve ourselves and degrade the planet to such an extent that only a very few of us humans would continue to exist on this planet?
